Overview
Hashcable ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website at hashcable.com, a live, cohort-based course that teaches AI automation to businesses and remote workers. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when someone visits the site, joins the "Get Updates" waitlist, enrolls in a cohort, or contacts us.
By using hashcable.com or providing personal information through it, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or the service.
Information we collect
When you enroll: full name, email address, and phone number, submitted through the enrollment form. Payment details (card, bank, or mobile money information) are entered directly into Paystack's secure checkout and never pass through or get stored on Hashcable's own systems.
When you join the "Get Updates" waitlist: first name and email address only.
When you contact us: whatever you submit through the contact form (name, email, and message).
We do not collect or store full card numbers, card PINs, online banking passwords, government identification numbers, or any other sensitive personal data category, at any point.
How we use your information
We use the information above for the following purposes only:
- Confirming your enrollment and giving you access to the cohort
- Sending enrollment confirmation, course schedule, and course-related emails
- Sending cohort start-date reminders and updates to waitlist signups
- Issuing your certificate of completion
- Responding to contact form submissions and support requests
- Improving the website and course based on aggregate usage data
We never use your email address to send unsolicited promotional messages unrelated to the course or content you signed up for, and we never sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Email communications and our anti-spam commitment
We send email only to people connected to an explicit action on the site: someone who enrolled, someone who joined the "Get Updates" waitlist, or someone who submitted the contact form. We never purchase, rent, scrape, or otherwise import email addresses from third-party lists.
Types of email we send, and nothing else:
- Enrollment confirmation: sent once, when you complete enrollment and payment.
- Course access and schedule emails: lesson access, live session reminders, and schedule changes for your active cohort.
- Certificate of completion: sent when you finish the course.
- Waitlist confirmation and updates: sent only to people who submitted the "Get Updates" form, confirming the signup and, afterward, enrollment-opening reminders.
- Contact form reply: sent only in response to a message you submitted through the contact form.
We deliver email through Zoho ZeptoMail, a transactional email provider, from domains we have verified ownership of. We monitor bounce and spam complaint reports from our email provider: an address that hard-bounces or is marked as spam is added to a suppression list and never emailed again, and soft bounces are retried a limited number of times before suppression. Our sending practices are designed to comply with ZeptoMail's acceptable use policy, the US CAN-SPAM Act, and, where applicable, the Nigeria Data Protection Act (2023) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
Data sharing and disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent personal information to any third party. We share the minimum information necessary with the following service providers, solely to operate Hashcable:
- Paystack (payment processor): name, email, and payment details, to process enrollment payments. Hashcable never sees or stores your full card details.
- Zoho ZeptoMail (email delivery): recipient email address and message content, solely to deliver the emails described in section 4.
- Our hosting infrastructure: all site and enrollment data, to run the service.
We will disclose information beyond this list only if required by law, court order, or regulatory authority. If Hashcable is acquired or merged with another entity, enrollment data may transfer as part of that transaction; you will be notified by email if this occurs.
Data retention
We keep enrollment information for as long as your course access is active, plus a reasonable period after for record-keeping and accounting purposes. Waitlist subscribers who do not enroll are retained until they unsubscribe or request deletion. Contact form submissions are retained for two years.
You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing hello@hashcable.com. We will process the request within 30 days, subject to what we're required to keep for legal or accounting purposes.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding personal data we hold about you:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion: request that we delete your personal data, subject to section 6
- Objection: object to a specific use of your data
- Portability: request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Withdrawal: withdraw consent to email communications at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@hashcable.com. We will respond within 30 days. We will never penalize you for exercising these rights.
Cookies and tracking
hashcable.com stores a small amount of data in your browser's session storage, used only to avoid showing the "Get Updates" popup more than once per visit. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics scripts. We do not use any form of browser storage to track you across other websites or to serve personalized advertising.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services to operate Hashcable. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Paystack (payment processing) · Paystack Privacy Policy
- Zoho ZeptoMail (transactional email delivery) · Zoho Privacy Policy
Your payment data is handled directly by Paystack during checkout and is never stored by Hashcable beyond what's needed to confirm your enrollment.
Children's privacy
Hashcable's course is intended for adults aged 18 and above. It is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from, anyone under the age of 18. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly.
Data security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure, including secure HTTPS encryption across hashcable.com, use of reputable industry-standard payment and email platforms, and limiting access to personal data to authorized personnel only.
No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you by email without undue delay.
International data transfers
Hashcable's infrastructure and service providers may process data outside Nigeria. Where that happens, we require those providers to apply security and confidentiality protections consistent with this policy, regardless of where the processing takes place.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Hashcable evolves. If we make material changes that affect how we use your personal data, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising from it is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts.
